Campaign

In BluChip Scout, a campaign is an organized sequence of outreach actions designed to help students and early-career professionals connect with target contacts — such as recruiters, hiring managers, or industry professionals — via LinkedIn and email automation.

A campaign is the core unit of outreach in Scout. It’s where users build, personalize, and launch a structured communication flow aimed at opening doors for job opportunities, internships, mentorship, and networking.

Key Components of a Scout Campaign

  1. Target Contacts

    • These are the people you’re reaching out to — for example, marketing managers at specific companies, alumni from your school, or recruiters in your industry.

    • Users can pull in contacts through the “My Network” tab and add them to a specific campaign.

  2. Outreach Sequence

    • A campaign includes a sequence of messages, which may consist of:

      • LinkedIn connection request

      • Follow-up message if the request is accepted

      • Additional touchpoints via LinkedIn messages or email (if available)

    • You can build multi-step sequences with custom timing and content.

  3. Timing + Scheduling

    • You control when messages are sent (e.g., 2 days after connection request is accepted).

    • You can space out messages to appear natural and avoid spam-like behavior.

  4. Personalization

    • Scout allows you to add personalized tokens or ‘variables‘ (e.g., {first_name}, {company_name}) to make messages feel tailored — even though they’re automated.

    • Each campaign can be customized based on industry, role, or outreach goal.

  5. Automation Engine

    • Once launched, the campaign automatically runs in the background — sending messages, tracking responses, and updating statuses based on recipient actions.

    • Scout simulates human behavior to avoid triggering LinkedIn’s spam filters.

  6. Performance Tracking

    • Each campaign includes its own analytics dashboard, allowing you to monitor:

      • Connection requests sent

      • Requests accepted

      • Messages delivered

      • Replies received

      • Response rate

    • This helps you iterate and improve your outreach over time.

Why Campaigns Matter

Email Outreach

Email Outreach is the use of BluChip Scout to send automated, personalized emails to hiring managers, recruiters, and others in a user’s target network. This can involve reaching out to potential employers, following up after an interview, or even contacting people who may be influential in the hiring process.

Personalized Messaging

Personalized Messaging refers to the practice of tailoring outreach messages to each recipient, making sure that each message feels unique and relevant. BluChip Scout helps users create personalized campaigns by enabling them to customize their messages based on the recipient’s role, company, or industry, improving the chances of a response.

Automated Outreach

Automated Outreach refers to the feature within Scout that automates the process of reaching out to potential employers or hiring managers. Scout helps users save time by sending messages at predefined intervals or triggers, eliminating the need for manual outreach and follow-ups.

Message Variations

Message Variations are different versions of an outreach message that users can test to see which one gets the best response. Scout allows users to create multiple versions of a message, then automatically sends them out to different recipients to evaluate which works best in connecting with hiring managers or recruiters.

Response Tracking

Response Tracking is a feature in BluChip Scout that allows users to track the responses they receive from their outreach campaigns. This helps users know when someone has read their message or replied. Tracking responses also allows users to follow up effectively, ensuring that no important opportunities are missed.

A/B Testing

Sequence Duration refers to the amount of time over which the sequence of messages in a campaign is spread. BluChip Scout allows users to set the time intervals between each message, whether it’s a few days, weeks, or a custom timeframe that fits the user’s strategy.

Candidate Engagement

Candidate Engagement refers to how actively hiring managers and recruiters interact with the outreach messages they receive through Scout. BluChip Scout provides insights into engagement levels, such as the percentage of messages that are opened or replied to, helping users refine their approach for future campaigns.

User Interface (UI)

The User Interface (UI) of BluChip Scout is the platform’s design and layout, through which users interact with the system. The UI is designed to be intuitive and easy to navigate, making it simple for students and recent graduates to set up and manage campaigns, track responses, and optimize their outreach efforts.

Contact Look-Ups

Unlock verified email and LinkedIn info for your target contacts so you can reach out directly. Each time you unlock a person’s contact information (email, LinkedIn, and more), it counts as a contact look-up. Your plan includes a set number of credits to use toward these look-ups.
