Arcadia’s Three-Sport Star Morganne Dee Sets a New Standard for DIII Athletes

Morganne Dee, a recent graduate of Arcadia University, has completed an extraordinary collegiate career as a three-sport athlete. Over four years, she played field hockey, ice hockey, and lacrosse while balancing a demanding academic load and a part-time internship. Her performance across all three sports earned her multiple conference honors and positioned her as a symbol of Division III excellence.

Dee’s secret to success was embracing the chaos of her schedule. She began each academic year with field hockey, transitioned to ice hockey, and finished with lacrosse. Coaches noted that her experience across different sports made her a more well-rounded and mentally sharp player, as her skills in one sport often enhanced her performance in another.

Despite her incredible drive, Dee admitted the immense pressure took a toll. A pivotal conversation with her athletic trainer, who helped her realize that her strength didn’t mean she had to carry the weight alone, taught her to rely on her support system. This support came from her coaches, family, and the unique bonds she formed with teammates on all three of her teams.

By the end of her senior year, Dee had earned multiple Offensive Player of the Year awards, was a constant force on her lacrosse team, and maintained a near-perfect 3.92 GPA. Her accomplishments have made her a “measuring stick” for what a Division III student-athlete can achieve. Now, as she reflects on her time at Arcadia, Dee encourages other athletes to challenge themselves, believing that the rewards are worth the effort.
