Turbo Coffee Brews Up All-Inclusive NIL Deal for UNA Student-Athletes

In a landmark move for student-athlete support, Turbo Coffee, a popular local business in Florence, Alabama, has announced an all-inclusive Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal with the University of North Alabama (UNA). This new agreement will provide NIL opportunities to over 300 student-athletes across all 14 of the university’s athletic programs.

A Commitment to Community and Athletes

The partnership signifies a deep commitment to the community and to the university’s athletes. “At Turbo Coffee, we love our community and are proud to be a part of campus life,” said Jerica Whittle, the owner of Turbo Coffee. The company, which originated in Florence and has since expanded to other locations, is well-known for its specialty drinks, açaí bowls, and house-made pastries. This deal allows them to connect with UNA’s athletic programs and support the athletes’ journeys both on and off the field.

Todd Vardaman, UNA’s Compliance/NIL Specialist, praised the new partnership. “Turbo is a wonderful corporate partner to UNA Athletics and is committed to engaging with UNA and Lion Athletics,” he said. This deal stands out because it extends NIL opportunities beyond just high-profile teams, ensuring a wide range of athletes can benefit from the agreement.

The collaboration highlights a growing trend of local businesses investing in their community’s student-athletes, recognizing their value as both community figures and brand ambassadors.
