Can I edit a sequence after it’s live?

Yes—you can edit a sequence after it’s live, but with a few important notes depending on where the sequence is being used.

If the sequence has not yet been assigned to a campaign:

You’re free to edit any part of it—message content, timing, steps, personalization fields, anything. Just click into the sequence from your dashboard, make your changes, and hit Save.

If the sequence is already live in a campaign:

You can still make edits, but here’s what to keep in mind:

  • Changes will only apply to future steps that haven’t been sent yet.

  • Scout will not re-send or modify messages that have already been delivered.

  • If you remove a step or rearrange the timing, it may shift the rest of the campaign slightly for anyone currently active in it.

For more significant changes, some users choose to:

  1. Duplicate the sequence

  2. Make edits to the new version

  3. Assign it to a new or paused campaign

Pro tip: If you’re testing new messaging, try editing the duplicated version first. That way, you can compare performance without disrupting active outreach.

Scout gives you the flexibility to evolve your outreach strategy—even mid-campaign.

Contact Look-Ups

Unlock verified email and LinkedIn info for your target contacts so you can reach out directly. Each time you unlock a person’s contact information (email, LinkedIn, and more), it counts as a contact look-up. Your plan includes a set number of credits to use toward these look-ups.
