How do I exclude people who have been added to other campaigns?

The “Exclude people added to other campaigns” filter is an option available at the last step of creating a campaign. This filter allows you to remove contacts that have already been added to other active campaigns, ensuring that you don’t target the same people repeatedly.

How the “Exclude People Added to Other Campaigns” Filter Works:

  • Filter is off by default: The filter is turned off by default, so you will see all the contacts in your campaign (both new and those previously added to other campaigns).

  • Available Tab: This tab displays the total number of contacts in your campaign, including those with and without exclusions applied.

  • Excluded from Campaign Tab: Here, you’ll see the contacts who are already part of your 1st-degree connections on LinkedIn.

How to View Campaign Information for Contacts:

By hovering your cursor over the symbol in the campaigns column (see the screenshot below), you can view which campaigns the contact has been used in before and see the status of those campaigns.


Important Notes:

  • Enabling the filter: The “Exclude people added to other campaigns” filter can only be enabled if you have already added leads from other campaigns. If no contacts have been added from other campaigns, this option won’t be available.

  • Database delay: After adding contacts to a campaign, it takes up to 10 minutes for those contacts to be saved in our database before they can be displayed in your next campaign with the “Exclude people added to other campaigns” filter enabled.

    This means that if you add contacts to Campaign #1, and a few minutes later, add the same contacts to Campaign #2, Scout won’t be able to exclude them from Campaign #2 immediately. However, after 10 minutes, the exclusion feature will work as expected.

  • Ideal timing for exclusions: The “Exclude people” function works best if there’s a gap of at least 10 minutes between creating your first and second campaigns. This allows enough time for the system to recognize and update the contacts in our database.

Contact Look-Ups

Unlock verified email and LinkedIn info for your target contacts so you can reach out directly. Each time you unlock a person’s contact information (email, LinkedIn, and more), it counts as a contact look-up. Your plan includes a set number of credits to use toward these look-ups.
